The advantages of PM HSS steel as compared to conventional
HSS steel are many-sided

has better toughness and is prone to less chipping than
conventional HSS steel because
it has small and uniformly distributed particles.

mills. PM 30 has 8% cobalt which is T15 improved.
PM 60 has 10.5 % cobalt and both are ideal for machining
Titanium, Stainless Steel, Heat Treated Steel, Invar,
Inconel and high temperature alloys. PM30 & PM60
are preferred above conventional HSS because of better
wear resistance, ability to take heavy depths of cut,
faster machining time and they are not brittle like
